I am finally starting to realise my dream of getting a fabulous co-op of amazing teachers with fantastic skills together! Some will work from my studio and teach skills I don’t have or that they are better at, some will work nearby and run a conjoined workshop with me where I teach one half and they the other half. Some will work in an entirely different (but still local) place or in a different way, but we are all connected and making the world a craftier place!
First up is Karen. We met about 6 months ago when I repaired her overlocker and just hit it off! We share a passion of sewing, amazing prints, and have similar backgrounds in work and attitiude to life. You’ll love her as much as I do I’m sure! Here is her blurb:
“Hi and welcome to Sew African. My name is Karen and I have been designing and sewing for many years. I love African print and
during my classes I teach how to make tote bags, cushions, clothing and more all in African print fabric. I teach classes for beginners and improvers.
Classes are small and friendly and take place at a wonderful purpose built studio in Walthamstow. They run at evenings and weekends. We make any patterns needed on the day so there is nothing to bring with you apart from your wonderful print! I always have extra African print fabric with me so if you prefer you can purchase some from me on the day. Sewing machines etc are provided.
Come along, have fun and bring some more colour into your day!”
