Swimsuit sew-along!

Swimsuit sew-along!

It’s almost May, which means Me-Made-May, a month where sewists all over the world wear as much handmade as possible and connect, blog, encourage and make more beautiful well fitting clothes and spread the joy that is wearing your own! In that spirit I want to start a sew-along to make the Closetcore Patterns’ Bombshell swimsuit. This is the ultimate in gorgeous swimsuits, with various options for a halter neck or bikini top, high waisted bottoms and a separate top or a ruched back all in one with great vintage style coverage for those among us who don’t like swimsuits that just cover our clitoris and not much else!

This is the link to the pattern, there is a sale on at the moment so the pattern is only about £14! I have made it before and it is such an interesting make as well as great fitting and the only swimsuit I have ever felt cute in!

What I am proposing is to start on Wednesday 4th May at 3pm, and do every Wednesday in May, if you want to sew live with me or I will record all the sessions and pop them on here so you can watch later or even watch them all in one go. I may need to adjust timings as May is super busy already and obviously if I get paid work I do need to grab this but I will make time as close to those times as possible. So even if you cannot get your fabric in time, do please join as the first session will be all about adjusting the patterns to fit and then you can cut the fabric when it comes in and be ready to start sewing with me the week after. Exciting huh?! I am happy to set up a WhatsApp group to answer any questions and connect with other people making their own! Just email me on [email protected] to give me your number.

You will need a few fabrics and notions you probably don’t have in your stash, here is the complete list from their website:

Hello

Hello

Jennie Caminada
I set up cheekyhandmades after I left my job 2010. I really wanted to use all my creative skills, skills I’d had for many years but never had time to use any more, and skills I realised I could and wanted to pass on.

I also wanted to work for myself, I wanted to be able to work around my children. And I am doing all of that now, and am loving it. I get to be surrounded by like minded people, great fabrics, my kids and cats, and listen to music all day. I get to decide what I do every day and how I do it.

I get to teach people how to make things and how joyful craft is. Every day my job gets better, every day I meet and talk to enthusiastic people and I help them achieve their creative potential.
