The cheekyhandmades sewing studio in Walthamstow East London is available to hire when it’s not in use by myself (which is quite often!). Or it is often only used by me and if you are happy to share the space with me it is a lot cheaper.

My studio can hold 8 people for a meeting, or 6 people on sewing machines. There are 6 sewing machines (Janome), and a Jukie overlocker as well as irons, threads, scissors, and a large table for cutting out (not large enough for more than 3 people to cut out at the same time). I have heating and fans, a digital radio and a bluetooth speaker. I have fabric shears, pinking shears, hundreds of pins, needles, measuring tapes etc.

My studio is not accessible for people with mobility problems, and access is through my flat and garden. It is in a peaceful garden setting in Walthamstow, a 5 minute walk from the Willam Morris Gallery and about 10 minutes on the bus from all the fabric shops on Walthamstow Market. I am on bus W11 and 158 routes, have (paid) parking space and I am a 20 minute walk from both Walthamstow Central and Blackhorse Road tube and overground stations (15 mins to Liverpool Street, 17 mins to Kings Cross, 20 to Oxford Circus). Parking is £1.40 an hour and I can provide digital vouchers at cost.

The rate is £40/ hour for exclusive use or £15pp if you are happy to share with me and my sewing machine. Available times can be anytime between 9am and 10pm but I will beed a decent amount of notice for exclusive use. To enquire or book contact me on [email protected]

Access is via my first floor flat so the studio is not accessible to people with mobility issues. I have cats but they can easily be kept out of the studio and the studio itself is fairly clear of cat hair, as there aren’t any soft furnishings in it really.

There’s access to a toilet in the house and a kitchen for water, sink, tea and coffee making facilities. I am happy for you to eat and drink in the studio as long as you tidy up after yourself.
